Introduction
The term prehistoric era talks about a period in the history of mankind, prior to any attempt of documenting its own history in written explanation of cult, culture and civilization. What we are attempting to learn in this discussion covers the need of man that triggered the architectural movement during the period that we know today as the Late new stone age and covers Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic ages and some tiny bits or the bronze and iron ages. The names of these ages refer back to the materials that were harnessed by the Hominid’s to evolve.
The foundations of geological and biological evolutionary theories were laid in 19th century by Charles Darwin. The evolutionary theory suggested that change in nature was continuing, unpredictable and unstoppable. The breakthrough in the natural sciences had an immediate and major impact on prehistoric archaeology. Today, geologists divide the history of the earth into four eras or ages related to the evolution of life forms:
·Primary (Palaeozoic)
·Secondary ( Mesozoic)
·Tertiary Cenozoic ( Age of mammals)
·Quaternary
