Research Methodology
Lets first discuss what is research. It can be said that research is a quest for knowledge. It is a scientific and systematic search for information on a specific topic. It can be called an investigation conducted scientifically.
Now let us understand the difference between method and methodology. Method is the action taken to conduct a systematic investigation of a research question. It will help to collect facts, figures and theories related to the research question. It will bring to light new information and knowledge and sometimes help to validate the collected data.
Methodology on the other hand is a systematic, theoretical and scientific analysis of the methods applied to the study. It comprises of a detailed analysis of the methods and principles and associate them with the study. Methodology does not mean providing an answer or solution to the research question. It is the job of the method to do that. In other words we can call it a blueprint, strategy or design plan of the whole study.
