The most commonly used frame structures are R.C.C. framed structures. We will restrict ourselves to find out quantities of various items of construction which form the basic R.C.C. structure.
Footings
The quantities of column footings are calculated as volume ( in cubic meters).
It is easy to calculate the volume of the first two types, Pad Footings and Stepped footings as it involves simple multiplications.
Calculating quantities of the third type of footings require a little bit of skill.
The sloped footings are made up of two solids. the bottom is a rectangular prism, like the pad footing. The other solid is a truncated rectangular pyramid.
