Working drawing: General arrangement drawings up to plinth.
The purpose of working drawings to convey information to the person who is constructing the building element.
First thing that we have to convey is what it is that has to be constructed or erected. Whether it be a door frame, brickwork or block of concrete, we must convey certain information about its nature and physical dimensions.
Secondly we have to convey where it is to be placed. This requires graphic and dimensional information regarding its relationship to the building as a whole.
Thirdly we have to convey how it is to be placed or fixed in relation to its immediate neighboring elements.
